The Triangle Aquatic Center (TAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to build public aquatic facilities throughout Wake County, North Carolina. The first TAC facility in Cary, NC has opened. Cary has been consistently rated by Money Magazine as one of the country's top ten places to live. TAC is currently looking for candidates for the following positions:


Front Desk Receptionist

Minimum Age: 17
  
Experience: Cash handling experience not required but preferred; customer service experience.
  
Certifications: CPR for Professional Rescuer, First Aid.
  
Job Duties: Greet patrons; manage entry, operate cash register; assist in emergencies, answer phones; take messages; and any other assigned duties as needed; computer skills recommended; must be able to verbally communicate effectively with both public and staff.
  
Shifts Available: Varied shifts; including holidays, weekends and evenings up to 40 hr/wk.
  
Compensation: $8.00/hour


Lifeguard

Experience: None required.
  
Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR for Professional Rescuer, First Aid.
  
Skill Set: Triangle Aquatic Lifeguard Skills Test.
  
Job Duties: Responsible for the safety of pool patrons by preventing accidents and responding quickly to emergency situations; must know and be able to perform all skills required for certifications; must follow and enforce all pool policies and rules at all times; perform routine maintenance to pool area, i.e., vacuum; pick up trash, etc.; must be able to verbally communicate effectively with both public and staff.
  
Shifts Available: Varied shifts; including holidays, weekends and evenings up to 40 hr/wk.
  
Compensation: $7.50/hour


Head Lifeguard

Experience: One season of lifeguard experience, strong leadership skills.
  
Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR for Professional Rescuer, First Aid.
  
Skill Set: Triangle Aquatic Lifeguard Skills Test.
  
Job Duties: Supervise lifeguard shifts. Required to perform lifeguard duties as well as supervise daily pool operations while on duty. Must follow and enforce all pool policies and rules at all times. Must be able to verbally communicate with both public and staff effectively.
  
Shifts Available: Varied shifts; including holidays, weekends and evenings up to 40 hr/wk.
  
Compensation: $8.50/hour


Fitness Instructor

Experience: One year or more teaching water fitness preferred. Experience with special populations a plus.
  
Certifications: USWFA, AEA, or similar water fitness instructor certification strongly preferred.
  
Job Duties: Teach water fitness courses in a variety of possible formats (adult, senior, and special populations). We have a warm-water 4-foot pool and a 25-yard program pool that will be utilized for these classes.
  
Shifts Available: Early, midday, and evening weekday classes, Saturday morning.
  
Compensation: Depends on experience


Swim Lesson Instructor

Experience: One or more years teaching swim lessons preferred but not required.
  
Certifications: WSI or equivalent strongly preferred.
  
Job Duties: Teach swim lessons for beginner to experienced youth and/or adults. Sessions will consist of 6-8 classes taught during the week and Saturday mornings. We have a warm-water 4-foot pool and a 25-yard program pool that will be utilized for these classes.
  
Shifts Available: Starts in January-- Weekday morning, weekday afternoon/evenings, Saturday mornings.
  
Compensation: Depends on experience


Café Splash Down Staff

Experience: Kitchen, restaurant or customer service preferred.
  
Job Duties: Greet customers, take orders, operate cash register and prepare orders. There are various positions on the front line and in the kitchen. Moving quickly, smiling and the ability to multitask are critical.
  
Shifts Available: Varied shifts; including holidays, weekends and evenings up to 40 hr/wk.
  
Compensation: $7.00/hour to start

TAC is happy to extend our service to the community as the polling location for Precinct 04-03 in Wake County during the upcoming May 6, 2008 primary election. Turnout is expected to be heavy for this exciting primary race, and we invite all citizens to make a day of it at TAC. You can vote, and then enjoy a swim in one of our open lanes. Admission to swim is $6 for adults and $4 for seniors. Non-voting children ages 2 - 11 can swim for only $2, $4 for ages 12 - 18. With over 2200 registered voters in the precinct, we hope to greet many of our new neighbors as they come to cast their votes.

The cafe will be open at 4:00 PM for an early dinner or quick snack as folks make time to exercise their right to vote. Read more TAC News
