Teri Critcher

Teri Critcher has been an instructor and coach for about 20 years now. She attended UNC-CH with a swimming and academic scholarship, but graduated from NCSU with an animal science degree. Her two passions are animals and swimming, which is evident by her license as Veterinary Technician and a level 3 coach in ASCA. Her full time job is at NCSU-CVM as a radiology technician. Teri enjoys teaching swimming to all levels of ability, and she looks forward to many more years of teaching. "I get very excited when I see the progression of a non-swimmer to a confident swimmer."

Leslie Haney

Leslie has been teaching swimming off and on for 20 years. She grew up in Miami, Puerto Rico, and Michigan in a family for whom sailing was a way of life. This led to water sports of all kinds being a part of her life from a very early age. She has been a competitive swimmer, lifeguard, lifeguard instructor, water safety instructor and certified scuba diver. "Swimming is more than a competitive and recreational sport. It is a valuable life skill that everyone should learn. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for swimming with anyone interested in learning." You'll find her teaching Parent and Tot classes on up through adults. In Fall of 2008, her youngest child will start preschool, freeing her up to teach more during the day.

Julie Jones

Julie Jones is an elementary school teacher who just can't stay away from the pool. She was a competitive swimmer for 13 years and has been teaching swim lessons to children and adults of all levels for more than 6 years. Prior to moving to the Triangle, Julie spent two years as an assistant coach and program director for the Montour Marlins Swim Club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During that time, she attended clinics hosted by the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) and became a certified Level II ASCA swimming coach. Right now Julie is working full time, but would love to stay involved in the sport and share her knowledge and love of swimming with others. She would prefer to teach private lessons on weekends, but may be able to squeeze one or two in during the week.
