The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over. Topics include: water rescue skills, surveillance & recognition, first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies, CPR, AED & more!

The Blended Learning version of the ARC LG Cert course combines the online learning and on-site sessions to build on the same knowledge and skills to train lifeguards to act with speed and confidence in emergency situation both in and out of the water. The online format allows participants to complete the interactive lessons on their own time, allowing the Instructor led sessions to reinforce learning and emphasize on skill building.

All sessions should be completed 48 hours prior to the first class. The link for the online course work will be emailed to each participant at least 1 week prior to the class start date, once you receive the link you can start your online course work.
