New TAC-Out Camps Program
TAC-Out Camps Program
The Triangle Aquatic Center is pleased to offer a brand-new program for our patrons. TAC-Out Camps offer three distinct camp offerings to service our families with abundance of choices for Track-Out, Summer, and Virtual Learning. TAC offers a variety of fun and educational activities that include water and fitness time and outstanding leadership from our experienced counselors and instructors.
Virtual Learning Camps
Virtual Learning Camps are now open for enrollment. This program offers campers a flexible remote learning environment while taking part in on-line classrooms and teaming this with in-water and fitness activities.
Camps are designed for elementary, middle and high school students and will consist of a Proctored-Learning Environment with extracurricular activities. Camps run Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm each day. TAC will offer early drop off beginning at 8am and late pickup as late as 6pm. TAC-Out Camps will provide the following for virtual learning:
- A separate sanitized workstation for each camper including, table, chair, surge-protected power supply and Wi-Fi internet access
- Curriculum designed around the camper’s online learning requirements.
- Meal and snack breaks – all provided by the camper
- Daily in-water, fitness and games activities
Each Camper must bring the following for camp daily:
- Laptop or personal computer with wireless capabilities and all camper-required accessories
- Headset for audio participation in online learning – no compute or external speakers
- Any required school supplies
- Food and drink for meals and snacks
- Water and fitness apparel and accessories
TAC Camp Counselors will monitor the Virtual Learning classroom to ensue camper’s focus on their work assignments and participation. Essential to these camps is our strict adherence to COVID-19 protocol. Our counselors will ensure a clean and sanitized environment for the campers in all areas within our Center. Our counselors will also be able to assist with network setup of each camper’s laptop and be able to provide Private Learning Studios for in-class presentations and participation. We want to stress that our Counselors are not teachers. We are not providing educational assistance or services beyond what is already described.
TAC offers a great deal of flexibility for our campers. We will work around the online classroom requirements of each of our campers and then design the extracurricular activities around the virtual learning. Campers and parents communicate directly with our counselors regarding their needs for virtual learning and then we will insert water, fitness, games and crafts time. Flexibility can also include drop off and pick up times within the normal camp hours.
Virtual Learning Camps give parents the ability to live their busy lives while having your kids take part in their daily online learning and surrounding it with the extracurricular activities to round out their day.

About: I have been working with children on and off throughout my entire job career. From being a babysitter to horseback riding instructor to Girl Scout volunteer to swim instructor, I have enjoyed teaching and watching children learn and grow by gaining new life skills. I enjoy seeing the world through the eyes of a child who has just discovered something new. It made me want to discover new things about the world, which led me to pursue and get a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Appalachian State University. When I was done with college, I came back to the Triangle Aquatic Center unsure of where to go next. Then, I was offered the wonderful opportunity to continue to work with children by being the coordinator for the TAC-out camps. Now, I am looking forward on creating an exciting camp program for children to learn new skills and fun ways to stay active throughout their lives.
